""They're such beautiful shirts," she sobbed, her voice muffled in the thick folds. "it makes me sad because I've never seen such-such beautiful shirts before."" This is absolutely my favorite part in the whole movie and novel. For an example you can see, Daisy is a two face which showed in her reaction and the way she spoke. In the beginning of the book you see Daisy speaking in a nice soft angelic tone that captures men's attention. When you see her flashbacks before marrying tom you notice her accent and poor grammar she uses. From gaining all that wealth after she was married you notice a change and her being more stuck up that she only married into the money not love. In this text her tone changed into "muffled" while she is saying "they're such beautiful shirts,". You see how her voice is like a strange whisper trying to hide her guilt and wrong choice she made. You notice how she would rather now marrying into Gatsby money and knowing Daisy being very materialistic she is saying how beautiful the silk shirts are. In conclusion Daisy could crawl in a whole and stay there... |
